FinanceFarooq is an Associate Professor of Finance at SKEMA Business School. His research interests are in Empirical Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, International Finance, Mergers and Acquisitions, National Culture, Labor Market Institutions, and CEO Behavior. He has presented his research at major conferences including WFA, EFA, SFS Cavalcade, CICF, NFA and FMA meetings. His work has been published in the Review of Financial Studies and Journal of Banking & Finance. He has received Best Paper awards in 2022 and 2017 at the French Finance Association (AFFI) annual meeting and finalist for the Best Paper award in 2018 at the FMA Asia-Pacific meeting. He is also a recipient of the 2022 "Best Scholar" and "Most Productive Scholar" awards at SKEMA Business School. He holds a PhD degree in Finance jointly from the Université Lille 2 and Skema Business School, MS in Business Administration from IAE de Lyon, University of Lyon III France, MBA (Finance) and BBA from the IIUI Islamabad Pakistan. He has been visiting scholar at the Foster Business School, University of Washington, United States. He has professional experience of 4 years in Internal Audit.
